My heartfelt condolonces to the family of late Mr.Salym Ali. May Allah bless his soul n may he rest in peace.
Salym Ali is one of the v close people I know. A person who has fought for the rights of our people n freedom. Taking him into custody was all Maumoon could do. But he never gave up he was warned to kill by maldivian police at the time of his arrest . His family had to face the same but he was v determined. It is so shocking, difficult to believe that he is not with us anymore. He may not be alive but he will always be there in our hearts. His work will not go empty.. we will carry it on..Oh! Almight give his family courage n make them as brave as Mr.Saleem Ali.

Late Mohamed Saleem Ali
Saleem Ali from Thinadhoo is one of the most prominent democratic activists in the country. After joining the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), he led a large scale awareness campaigning in his native Atoll, Huvadhoo, which increased the party's support base in the region. He will be sadly missed by party members and other reformist. This blog is dedicated to his loving memory.

The news of Saleem's death came as a shock to everyone who knew him. He has been the face of democracy movement in the southern atolls of the country. His demise is an irreplaceable loss to us all and we will miss him immensely. May he rest in peace and may Almighty Allah grant him eternal bliss.
Mohamed Saleem Ali, died in Colombo on 25th December 2007. He had a heart attack. He will be burried in Colombo in the early hours of 26th December.
Late Saleem was 46 years old and has 4 children.
